Donations are very impactful in these races - they mean more literature, better distribution, more signs, more ads, more events and better support for our volunteers. This is especially important now that the new ward is a combination of 2 wards.
Please note that, unlike federal and provincial political contributions, TDSB trustee campaign contributions are not eligible for any tax credits. Further, unlike Toronto mayoral and city councillor campaign contributions, TDSB trustee campaign contributions are not eligible for Toronto's municipal Contribution Rebate Program. In effect, treat any TDSB trustee campaign contribution as an after-tax donation, with no expectation of any funds being returned.
Maximum donations per person are $1,200, per the Municipal Elections Act. In aggregate, across all candidates, a person may donate $5,000.

Given that there is no tax deductibility or municipal rebate for the trustee role, I understand the heightened personal sacrifice you are making with your donation.
